A Life of Surrender

Today’s a new day! I would encourage everyone to search our hearts and ask ourselves, “Have I totally surrendered every area of my life to Jesus?” I am not talking about the time we asked Jesus into our life. No, I am not talking about our salvation. I am talking about living a completely surrendered life to Jesus. Living a life that is willing to be honest and raw. Living a life willing to believe and live out the scriptures. Living a life willing to believe that when Jesus went to the cross He paid our sin debt in full. Living a life trusting Jesus has a beautiful plan for each area of our lives. Living a life acknowledging that Jesus has the right to expect us to say, I Surrender All. ~OC

Surrender

The following words are from Jesus:

Simply put, if you’re not willing to take what is dearest to you, whether plans or people, and kiss it good-bye, you can’t be my disciple. Luke 14:33

Are you truly willing to surrender it all to Jesus? I encourage each one of us to spend time in prayer with Jesus before answering this most important question. ~OC

Godly Friendships

Today’s a new day! As we walk through life we need true friendships with no secrets or hidden agendas. We need Godly friendships filled not with condemnation; but instead filled with grace. Godly friendships filled with forgiveness when one of our friends let’s us down. Godly friendships so strong we do not run away at the first sign of trouble. Godly friendships were we can tell our complete stories. Stories filled with failures, struggles, heartbreak and temptations. But also share stories filled with success and adventure. Godly friendships where we can freely share our deepest hopes, fears and dreams. Godly friendships where we will still be deeply loved and accepted even when the mask is taken off. Godly friendships where our true friends believe in us. God created each of us with a desire for relationships. It’s part of our DNA. We cannot escape it. We were created to be in deep meaningful friendships. God did not create us to be alone. If we try walking this journey alone, we are missing out on one of God’s greatest gifts. The gift of true friendship. So stop making excuses. Stop allowing past hurts to keep you from finding true Godly friendships. Step up and step into Godly Friendships. ~OC

Surrender

Most people do not like the word Surrender. For many the word means giving up or losing. This is especially true in the me first culture of today. But if we want to truly walk as a disciple of God’s, we cannot skate over the beautiful truth of surrendering.

When our bodies are out of alignment, we can definitely feel it. If we do not have our doctor check things out, our bodies will continue to decline. Not just physically, but emotionally, mentally and spiritually. We will start experiencing more defeats than victories.

Until we bring our thoughts and actions into proper alignment with God, we will continue to wear out. We will continue being out of alignment. But when we completely lay everything at the foot of the Cross, we become properly aligned with the will of God. Our hopes and dreams stop being centered around us and start being centered on the will of our Heavenly Father.

When we get caught up in the culture of the world, it can be tough to get realigned with the will of God. But surrendering everything to God is the first step to living a victorious and abundant life. I pray you take that first step today. ~OC

Never Walking Alone

Our Savior desires a deep relationship with you. God is dependable and he wants us to depend on him. When we are healthy, there is no need to visit a doctor. Everything in your body is working the way God designed it to work. Praise God. But when we become sick, most of us will make an appointment with our doctor. When we are healthy our focus is on other things in life. But the minute our health becomes an issue our focus changes. All the sudden, we turn to our doctor who can help us through this health challenge.

Sometimes God allows us to walk through a season of trials, to get our focus back where it truly belongs. On the one we call the Great Physician. God desires for us to be in close intimacy with him. He desires for us to live a victorious life. When we walk through trials, God never wants us to walk the journey alone. He wants to walk with us through our crazy beautiful journey. He desires a deep relationship with each of us. God knows without him, the enemy will be able to use our trials to drag us down. To defeat us. With God’s presence we are protected.

Are you currently walking a journey, that is dragging you down? Are you waking up each morning with less hope? Do you feel alone? Defeated? If so, I want to remind you that our wonderful Savior is with you this very moment. He wants to wrap his loving arms around you and hold you close.

In life, we will walk through valleys. There is no escaping that fact. But I want to encourage you that you do not have to walk through the storms alone. If you will lean into God, he will meet you right where you are. So keep pressing on. Do not give up. You are not walking this journey alone. ~OC

Unity

Today’s a new day! Unity is something we desperately need in our world these days. We are surrounded by so much division. All you have to do is scroll through social media, turn on the news or go to a family get together. The Us vs.Them mentality has divided nations, families and churches. But the truth is, there is no such thing as Us vs. Them. There is only Us. Until we embrace this truth, we will continue to have division in our communities, state, nation and world.

So here’s my challenge. In our world today. I hope you will join me in praying daily for God’s love, forgiveness and grace to be poured out all across the world. May we each humble ourselves and pray for unity in our families, communities and churches. May our world experience a beautiful healing. ~OC

Hope

Good morning. Jesus put this on my heart early this morning, just before the sun started to rise. This post is about the beautiful power of Hope.

Hold on. The early morning light always breaks at the darkest point of the night, just when you start to wonder if it ever will. The fog begins to lift just when you start to think it never will, the weight eases ever so slightly just when you think you cannot take another breath. But then that next breath comes.

Let your inner circle hold you and lift you up during the storms of life. This can be a huge challenge for so many as they walk through their crazy beautiful journey. Reaching out for help can be difficult. You have people in your inner circle who want to walk beside you, to pick you up when you fall, to hold you and carry you when your body is too tired. Let them in. Let them hold you up. Let them carry you through the storm. ~OC

Waiting

Waiting. For most of us, waiting is not one of our favorite things. What do you do when life finds you in a state of waiting? When all we can do is wait. Waiting on test results. Waiting on a relationship to be mended. Waiting for a breakthrough. Waiting for a sign from God that it will not always be like this… waiting can be taxing, discouraging and deflating. Waiting can cause us to question our faith. To question God.

But what if waiting is the season God is using to grow us? That there is purpose behind the waiting. God wants us whole and He wants us free, and He will often take us on a journey of discovery before we get to the fulfillment of what we hope for. God has your back and He wants what is best for you. God is for you and will not forsake you, even in the middle of your biggest storm. Even during the waiting. ~OC

Go Pray

In November 2019, I felt lead by God to start praying outside of Good Samaritan Medical Center for my dear friend Laura Geddes-Paez. As I prayed, several friends started joining me. What started off as just one night praying for my dear friend Laura, spread to me being asked by multiple families to pray outside of hospitals across Palm Beach County, Florida.

Back in November 2019, there were no Covid restrictions about visiting and praying inside the hospitals. Heck, Covid19 was not even in our vocabulary. But when I felt that calling to pray for my friend Laura, God directed me to pray outside. Maybe He was preparing me for the time we would not be able to visit our friends and loved ones inside. I just know that God as truly blessed each of these gatherings outside of our local hospitals. These beautiful prayer gatherings have been life changing for everyone involved.

So today, I want to encourage everyone that is able to spend some time praying outside of your local hospitals. To pray for patients, families, healthcare workers and everyone who works at the hospital. Maybe make some encouraging signs. Maybe put together little snack bags to hand out to hospital staff as they make their way to and from work. Let them know they are loved. Maybe adopt a floor at your local hospital and buy them lunch or dinner. What’s so amazing, is you never know the people God will bring your way that desperately need prayer. I hope someone will take this amazing challenge to heart. I promise, your life will never be the same. ~OC

Not A Lack of Faith

Today’s a new day! Hello to some of my Christian brothers and sisters. If a fellow Christian decides to get the Covid vaccine or wear a mask, that does not mean they lack faith. It means they prayed about it and felt that was the best decision for them. Their choice. So brothers and sisters, please stop spreading this lie of lack of faith. It’s not a lack of faith. It’s a choice that a person made for themselves and their family. Respect that choice.

Once again, this is not a political post. So please no political comments or conspiracy theories. I don’t like deleting comments, but will if needed. Thanks. ~OC
