Promises

Today’s a new day! Do not allow the noise of your past to drown out the peace of your presence and the promises of your future. ~OC

In The Well

Today’s a new day! What’s buried deep down in the well, will come up in the bucket.

Translation: What is buried deep in our hearts, will eventually come out in our words and actions. So do not sleep on anger, grudges, or judgment against anyone. Do not let it take root. Deal with it in the light.

But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin! Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day. Ephesians 4:26

Today

Today’s a new day! Slow down today. Share a smile and kind word. Show grace when it would be easier to judge. Show love even when hate is thrown your way. Don’t miss out on a beautiful interruption. Take time and embrace the moments you will experience today. Have a beautiful day! ~OC

Three Promises

Today’s a new day! Here are three promises from our Lord and Savior.

God will always affirm your worth. Matthew 6:26

God will work things out for your good. Romans 8:28

God is faithful even when we’re not. 2 Timothy 2:13

Lay Down The Stones

I remember as a child picking stones up on the train tracks and throwing them as far as my little arm could. Sometimes I would imagine I was playing centerfield for the Cincinnati Reds, and I would throw the runner out at home plate. The Reds win! The Reds win! Oh, the imagination of a child.

As I got older, I used to carry a stone my pocket. No, not to throw out the tying run at home, but to remind myself not to throw stones at others. To lay down all the stones that had words like judgement, hate, ugliness and other negative words written on them.

As Christians we are good at throwing those painful invisible stones at people. The stones may be invisible, but the pain they bring is real. To that single mom with multiple children we throw judgment at. To that homeless man. To that person walking into church that doesn’t dress or act the part of the “Christian” we have created in our mind.

I often reflect on the women in the Bible caught in adultery. She was brought to Jesus by men who were ready to throw rocks/stones at her. Our Savior knew this woman was guilty. But Jesus came not to judge, but to love and save lives. Can you imagine the look on this women’s face as Jesus started writing in the sand and her accusers quickly moved along.

We all have issues going on in our own lives. Things we would hate for others to see. It’s easy to throw stones at others, but remember that we too need forgiveness. We all need a little bit of grace.

I pray we will keep all of our stones in our pockets. We have all sinned and fallen short. Thank goodness Jesus died for all of our sins. I do not want to be like the men in John 8:1-11 that were so willing to throw their stones. As Christians our goal should be to become more like our Lord and Savior. To lay our stone down at the foot of the Cross. ~OC

God’s Promises

Today’s a new day! God has promised to look after us….to bring help. God, who defends us, who is far greater in strength than any issues or storms life throws at us. God, who spoke and whose words caused the universe to be. His words are true and unfailing. If He promises something, He will deliver. ~OC

Position

Today’s a new day! Jesus positions us, not according to our preference, but according to His purpose. ~OC

The Storm

Today’s a new day! It doesn’t matter if the storm you are facing was started by the hand of the enemy, it still has to pass through the hand of Jesus. ~OC
