Glimpses Of Heaven…

Today’s a new day!

Over the past several weeks, God has been giving me some very special glimpses of Heaven. Sometimes these moments happen during the day, and other times they come at night when I’m actually able to get some sleep.

I honestly don’t know how to put these experiences into words. They are brief, beautiful, and filled with a peace that is difficult to explain.

Let me be clear about something. I don’t believe these moments mean I’m going home to Jesus anytime soon. But whenever that day comes, I am ready. My hope, my faith, and my eternity are in Him.

What makes these moments so special is that they haven’t been frightening or unsettling in any way. Quite the opposite. They have been filled with an incredible sense of peace, comfort, and the presence of Jesus. I genuinely look forward to them.

There is something else that has been happening during these brief moments. Sometimes Jesus places particular people on my heart. He shares words, thoughts, and encouragement that I feel led to pass along to others.

Are these moments prophecy? I honestly don’t know, and I’m not going to get caught up in trying to put a label on them. I don’t need to understand everything God is doing. I simply want to remain available, listen, pray, and share what Jesus puts on my heart.

After everything I’ve experienced throughout my health journey, including some moments when doctors weren’t sure I would make it, I’ve learned not to take a single day for granted.

I’ve also learned that there is so much more to our relationship with Jesus than we sometimes allow ourselves to experience. Sometimes we need to slow down, become quiet, and simply make room for Him.

I don’t know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow.

I am not afraid of Heaven. I’m looking forward to the day I see Jesus face-to-face. Until then, I still have a life to live, people to love, prayers to pray, encouragement to share, and hopefully a few more lives to touch along the way.

Jesus, keep my heart sensitive to Your voice. Keep my feet moving in the direction You lead, and never let me become so distracted by the gifts that I lose sight of the Giver.

I’m not looking for attention, a platform, or a title. I’m simply looking for Jesus.

Keep overcoming. Keep fighting. Keep believing.

And above all, keep your eyes on Jesus! ~OC
